To work with SMI (SAMI) files in Anycount, let’s get to know a little more about this format.
SMI and SAMI are two extensions used by the Microsoft Synchronized Accessible Media Interchange format. Designed to simplify creating closed captioning in multimedia, this format is plaintext and based on HTML.
A number of known media players support this format, such as Windows Media Player, VLC Media Player, and MPlayer.

Word, Character, Line Counts for SMI (SAMI) files
Anycount will always count subtitle text in SMI (SAMI) files. Optionally, you may also enable it to count the timecodes, formatting and descriptions found in the file.
When counting of .SMI (.SAMI) files is completed, you can:
view count results on the screen;
print count results;
export count results to .HTML, .DOCX, or .PDF formats.
